Rain or shine, the one-night only festival must go on. Despite the unforgiving dark clouds and intermittent torrential downpours experienced during the late afternoon, the outdoor Sundown Festival 2011 ended on a successful note yesterday night, with nary a raindrop in sight when the event commenced.

With food and beverage stalls all lined up around the area, concertgoers thronged the event with foldable chairs and picnic mats in hand. The 7,000 strong crowd was all geared up for a night-long of musical performances by Korean band Teen Top, Japanese visual kei rock band ViViD and Taiwanese artistes such as Hebe Tien, Jing Chang, and Show Luo.

Rousing fans with their up-tempo rock tunes and heavy guitar riffs, ViViD kicked off the festival with 'Yume ~ Mugen no Kanata~' before pleasing fans with a rendition of their new song 'Kakera'. Decked in black rocker outfits with immaculately-styled hairdos, the band's high-energy performance left the crowd stirring in excitement when they came back for an encore of 'FAKE', a track from their latest single.

After five songs from ViViD, Taiwanese singer Jing Chang took over the performing baton with familiar tunes from her old and new Mandarin albums. The 28-year-old clearly enjoyed her moment on stage as she bantered freely with fans who were touting lighted boards with the Chinese character 'Jing'.

When it was Korean boyband Teen Top's turn to perform, the crowd's screams grew shriller with each second as fangirls clamoured around the stage for an up close view of the boys. After 'Supa Luv', the rookie group performed a ballad tune called 'Angel' -- also the official fanclub name for the group - for fans.

In a short thank you speech, leader C.A.P expressed their thanks towards fans' continuous support and said that the group is "very excited" to be "representatives of Korea" for this year's Sundown Festival. After the catchy 'No More Perfume on You', the boys ended their performance with hypnotic dances moves for 'Clap', their debut song in 2010.

Apart from fast-paced dance tunes and rock songs, the crowd was also serenaded by the melodious vocals of Hebe. Despite a couple of technical problems and sound glitches at the Marina Promenade, Hebe gave a flawless rendition of her last song 'Ji Mo Ji Mo Jiu Hao' and crooned to well-loved ballads such as 'My Love', 'Love' and 'To Hebe'.

Dressed in leather vest and pants, Show bantered freely with fans during his time on stage and revealed that he has "finished recording" his new album, which will be released in 2012. The Taiwanese singer-actor ended the night's festivities with a repertoire of hit songs such as 'Jing Wu Men', 'Ai Feng Tou', 'Only You' and 'Yi Zhi Du Xiu'.
